Hamiltonhill Claypits, Glasgow

11.06.15 - 11.09.15

Residents is the conclusion of a project supported by Creative Cargo (Glasgow Sculpture Studio’s learning and engagement programme) and Glasgow Life where Beth has worked with local groups developing relationships and ideas for interaction between her work and the community.

The installation sits somewhere between painting and sculpture amongst a pile of beached edging stones that line the canal.  The forms and colours used are intrinsically linked to a screen print produced for Local Press, a neighbourhood exhibition produced in partnership with Creative Cargo and Queens Cross Housing Association where limited edition prints were given away free to visitors.   It’s intended that people who own the prints might happen upon this work which is visually recognisable, although the context, environment, scale and material have been altered.  The work will remain on-site for three months until October 11th.

Thanks to Friends of Possilpark Greenspace who look after the site, Creative Cargo, Maryhill Community Central Hall The Princes Trust Group and Glasgow Life.
